Villu Vihermäe

Villu Vihermäe was born 15.o4.1984. He started his cello lessons at the age of 5 in Tallinn Music Secondary School under Laine Leichter. In 1998 he got III price in August Dombrovska international competition in Riga. 2000 Diploma in international stringplayers competition in Liezen.

2003 he got III price in ESTA competition, Tallinn. 2003-2008 Villu Vihermäe studied at Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EAMT) under Henry-David Varema. 2004 he achieved III price in EAMT Chambermusic competition. 2006 and 2011 at the same competition I price. 2004-2008 he worked at Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist he has performed with orchestras like Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Estonian Defence Forces orchestra etc.

As a chamber musican he has performed in Baltics and Germany. Also took part in several mastercourses. Since October 2008 he studies at Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig under Peter Hörr.
