Tatiana Berman
International soloist and recitalist Tatiana Berman is “a young violinist with a mature, compelling musical personality” (The Strad).
As a chamber musician and soloist, Tatiana has collaborated with Joshua Bell, Steven Isserlis, Jeremy Denk, Paavo Järvi, and Sarah Ioannides. She has performed at the LaSalle and Linton Chamber Music Series in Cincinnati, the Oistrakh, Järvi and Leigo Lakes Festivals in Estonia, the International Musicians Seminar in the UK, London Arts, Buxton and Brighton Festivals.
Tatiana performs with Constella String Trio and is also a founding member of concert:nova, the Cincinnati-based multidisciplinary chamber music ensemble. The Cincinnati Enquirer has called concert:nova “the future of classical music.”
Tatiana has performed as a soloist with the St. Petersburg Academic, London Musici and Spartanburg Philharmonic orchestras, is a featured soloist on the Classic FM CD Yehudi Menuhin’s Young Virtuosi, and has appeared on the cover of Musical Opinion.
Born in Moscow and raised in St. Petersburg, Tatiana began studying the violin at age 5. She went on to study at the St. Petersburg Specialized Music School, won full scholarships to The Yehudi Menuhin School and Royal College of Music in London. While studying, Tatiana received the Manoug Parikian, Sidney Perry, MBF and Craxton Awards. As well as winning the prestigious Ian Fleming and Myra Hess Awards in London, Tatiana was a prizewinner at the Kloster-Schöntal International Violin Competition.
In the UK Tatiana gave recitals at the Wigmore Hall, St. James’ Piccadilly, Royal Festival Hall, Leighton House, and Southwark Cathedral as part of London Arts, Buxton and Brighton Festivals.
Tatiana Berman is founder and director of the Constella Festival of Music and Fine Arts. The festival is scheduled to launch in Cincinnati on October 13, 2011. With approximately 14 concerts during 3 weekends, its primary purpose is to present world-class musicians and artists to showcase the richness of classical music and art in Cincinnati, USA
